Diwali 2020: Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Amit Sadh Reveal Festival Of Lights Will Be All About Work And Family-EXCLUSIVE
Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Shabana Azmi and more reveal their Diwali 2020 plans
Diwali 2020 isn't exactly what everyone expected it to be like. With Coronavirus pandemic still looming over our heads, the festival of lights doesn't feel the same. The much glamorous Bollywood which is used to seeing 4-5 high profile parties lined up during the Diwali week has gone low-key. Majority of the stars are staying indoors with their family or are at work. We got in touch with a list of celebs who revealed what Diwali 2020 looks like for them.
Shabana Azmi: “I am shooting for Halo In Budapest till 11th December. Budapest has also gone into lockdown since Wednesday. Curfew from 8 pm- 5 am. For Diwali, I am going to a local Indian family’s house for pizza because their cook has had to go back to Delhi! Will light two diyas and play some Hindi film music. Ho Gayi Diwali!”
Abhishek Bachchan: “Nothing this year. Just family at home. A puja and a working Diwali. That’s the way I want it. I’d advise all to restrict their Diwali to the immediate family and to avoid all pollutant firecrackers. Hopefully next year we can go back to a normal Diwali.”
Gurmeet Chowdhary: “Every year we used to organize a card party at home. Friends used to come over and we used to have fun. This year obviously with COVID-19 coming in no Diwali parties will happen, we will avoid going to each other's house but we will have a small celebration at home. We will decorate the house with diyas and lights and have a small puja. Will wear new clothes and just spend time with family. Also, I would like to appeal to all to not use firecrackers at all, as it would create a lot of pollution and less oxygen which will affect us highly especially in these Covid times.”
Taapsee Pannu: “It’s a working Diwali for me. I am shooting for Rashmi Rocket in Pune. It’s physically strenuous but mentally very satisfying.”
Ronit Roy: “I’m out of the country. So very quiet Diwali. That’s usually the case with me. I hope everybody has a safe and happy Diwali and joy in their lives.”
Amit Sadh: “ I am shooting on Diwali. Isn’t that the best? So many people will make money and earn a daily wage. Happiest to be working. After that, I am going to Dubai for two weeks to work under the supervision of a very big doctor and get my knees and some other injuries fixed and to take a well-earned a break.”
Sanjeeda Sheikh: “I am celebrating Diwali on the sets of my next film Kun Faya Kun. So it’s a working Diwali for me. It couldn’t have gotten any better for me.”
Karanveer Vora: “I’ve no plans this Diwali. My wife and daughters aren’t here at home with me. I am spending time this Diwali with Mom and Dad and my Kuldevi Chamunda Mata.”
Pulkit Samrat: “I am in Delhi this Diwali. My sister’s getting married on 25 November, so this Diwali is gonna be a special one! I hope people don’t burst crackers to pollute the already vitiated air. It’s so sad to see educated people spending thousands of rupees on crackers and ruining the environment!! I hope this Diwali, people get some SadhBudhi!”
